Tournaments :

Heat Basketball teams compete in at least six tournaments during the spring and summer.  These tournaments are generally held on weekends and could be at locations that necessitate overnight stay.  Some teams,  if qualified may compete in National AAU Tournaments and NCAA Certified Events at their respective age levels.

Practices :

Team practice at least twice a week, usually on weeknights.  Practices are held at local Boys & Girls Clubs, Recreation Centers, Churches, YMCA, various middle school and high schools through out Las Vegas, Summerlin and Henderson.  Practice sessions provide time for the development of individual skills and team concepts.  Defensive and offensive strategies are covered.  Players are expected to learn the system during these sessions so that in game coaching can reinforce concepts, program philosophies, and procedures that have been taught.

Playing Time:

Every Heat Basketball student athlete is a contributing member of the team.  They are challenged in practice sessions and are provided opportunities during game situations to display their basketball skills.  All student athletes recieve playing time.  However,  some student athletes may recieve more playing time than others.  The amount of playing time a player recieves is determined by several factors such as matchups, foul trouble, attitude, attendance at practices and games, work ethic and attendance of college coaches who are evaluating a student athlete.

 Exposure :

Many student athletes have aspirations of playing college basketball.  Heat Basketball provides those student athletes who wish to pursue a college basketball scholarship numerous opportunities to demonstrate their basketball abilities at AAU National Tournaments, and NCAA Certified Events attended by college coaches and recruiters.  Over the course of our existance.  Many student athletes have earned scholarships to further their education and continued their  basketball careers at Division I, II,III Colleges and Universities.
